If you take my son's place on the farm then he could return to work for the sheriff, but otherwise without a helping hand I will not be able to bring the farm up to scratch. The previous owner has let it completely run down, I've had to plow the entire land again to make it fertile. I have also sown seeds of grain, however the birds have been eating them.He mutters under his breath: My wife would make an excellent scarecrow, however I need her behind the stove...Go stand in the fields and scare off any ravens that try to peck at my seeds. There are some hours until sunset, do you reckon you can manage for that long? Of course I'll reward you for all your trouble.

The field must be fertilised. Muck out the stables and collect the manure! I know I promised you a reward, but I'll give it to you after we have enough fertiliser! You've never got fertilizer from jobs. While doing certain quests you have a chance to find special products like fertilizer when mucking out the stables. Keep on doing the job until you find enough fertilizer.

That looks very rich. It is important the land is well fertilised, otherwise the harvest would be so small it wouldn't be worth your effort preparing it.

You have found a deed for Flint Westwood's farm with a different name on it, but Flint also has a deed to the farm. Unless we can prove that Flint has forged his deed then I cannot do anything. Find the owner! Try showing the deed with his name around the Saloon, the people here know a lot of others and surely one of them can help you. If you can prove that Flint did forge his deed to claim the farm then I might even give you a reward.

You found Dean, the rightful owner of the farm. You were attacked? A bounty hunter you say? And he said Flint paid him to whack you because you were snooping around too much? Incredible. But do you have any definite proof how Flint seized the farm from Dean? For me all this doesn't make much sense. Why would he want some piece of wasteland? Nothing grew on that farm anymore! Could there be more behind it? Without any proof I don't think there is much I can do.

Flint had salt on his farm? He has swindled Dean out of his farm. He deliberately scattered salt across the soil so it would dry out quickly! The salt has absorbed all the water so the plants are starved of moisture, causing them all to shrivel up and die. Meanwhile the rain has caused the salt to dissolve, but not before Flint had Dean rent him the farm. However he never did pay his rent, instead he forged his deed so everyone thought that he owned the land himself! Pass me the certificate so that we can finally give it back to Dean, the legitimate owner.

Thanks to your efforts we have the evidence we need to expose Flint! Turns out he does belong behind bars! You should be proud of yourself, because of you a little justice will be served!
