Hello, my friend! Tonight I had a dream, a beautiful dream. I saw a wild mustang galloping like the wind, rushing through the great prairie. He seemed so happy! The dream lingered on, and I shifted between being awake and sleeping. And I was thinking... Do you remember our adventure with the ghosts? It was a while ago, but I still wonder about the symbols. What do these symbols mean? Are you ready to discover their meaning? Then get ready, we have a long way to go.
Finish
Ha, perfect, you brought supplies for our trip. I knew I could count on you. Food will be absolutely necessary. Don't forget to take the symbols with you! We will first try to find out more about the symbol of water.

First on our list is the symbol of water. We have to go to a place where the world holds many secrets. My ancestors meditated there for centuries, asking the spirits for advice. Unfortunately, it is not easy to get there. Choose the best path and remember, don't look down. I'll go to the shaman of my tribe in the meantime, to ask for the favor of our ancestors. I'll meet you there later.
Finish
I see you made it and didn't get lost. Now we have to find some clues, and this task is even more difficult than getting here.

The last time you were here this place looked different. You look at the red rocks, but cannot see what is hidden below them. You decide to set up a camp. After you had a good sip of strong Whiskey and watched the stars for a while, you fall asleep. The ancestral spirits send you a vision in your dreams. You see a stream of water flowing deep within the earth. The stream branches out and creates all the water sources in the world. You see how crystal clear water flows into rivers that in turn feed the lakes, the seas and the oceans.
Finish
You understood the lesson of the ancestors. There are still three more symbols, about which you have to learn more. But that has to wait until tomorrow.

The spirits very much appreciated the glowing beads. You should know that the green stone is a symbol of the earth, and red is the symbol of fire. Only the air does not have a material symbol. This should be remembered.
Finish
Are you ready for the next lesson? Then go to the abandoned city. In the evening, there should be someone waiting for you. And bring a symbol of the air.

This place makes you shiver with an irrational fear. It seems that the howling of the wind never leaves this place. You have come at a bad time. Someone throws a stone at you and hits you on the head. You fall off your horse and lose consciousness. However, the same moment the stone hits your head, the spirits speak to you. You see an eagle flying, carrying prey in its claws. The majestic bird, ruler of the skies, glides proudly through the clouds. For a moment, a fleeting moment, the eagle looks at you and says something. But you could not understand its words. And then the echo fades away.
Finish
Something distracts the vision sent to you by the spirits. It disappears in the fog, and you wake up in the middle of the city, surrounded by complete darkness. You have a terribly headache. You cannot really make sense of this lesson, but you surely will remember it for a long time.

Really, that is what happened? What you say surprises me, I almost cannot believe it. The spirits usually send visions people understand, and speak to us in our own language. Are you sure that you did everything right? Then something must have gone wrong. Maybe there are bandits there... From now on you should bring some gifts to the spirits, to avoid this from happening again. I think that colored stones will be a good present. Go and get some!
Finish
I think when you hone them you can use them.

Some of us here in the saloon have skills that you would never expect. If you get the right ingredients, Sheriff John will make a delicious drink. Yes, we don't need strong "juice". I think we should ask someone whose not all thumbs for help. If you pay Henry an appropriate price and give him the right substance, he will do great tinsel for us. I believe the spirits will like it very much. We also need a couple of rough diamonds, which still hide their beauty inside.
Finish
Now think about what you can give to Henry.

Waupee told me that you will come to me, {PLAYER_NAME}. It has been a long time since I was asked to demonstrate my talents as a jeweler. Thus far I did it only for Maya. And she always surprised me with more and more stones. So what about you, what have you got for me?
Finish
Here you go. I hope the results of my efforts are satisfactory. I've never seen such stones before. They seem to be extremely valuable.

Now that we have gifts for the spirits we can continue our expedition. Fire has two faces - it creates and destroys. In the right hands, fire can be used to create something good, like food. But unfortunately playing with fire can also end badly. You have to be careful to pass this test. Go back to the ghost town and make camp there. I'll join you as soon as possible. Bring something to start a fire with.
Finish
I see you are ready, so let's start the ritual.

Entering the town, you notice a dried bloodstain where you had lost consciousness the last time. Instinctively you look up, searching for an eagle. The sky is exceptionally clear, only a few clouds lazily drift by. You stand still and think, looking up... After a while, you hear the voice of a well-known friend, who wakes you up from your reverie. Time to find a place for the camp. The center of the city seems to be the best place. You pitch your tent and set up a fireplace. After sunset, a bright fire burns and you enjoy the time with your friend. Waupee drops some leaves which were given to him by the shaman, into the fire. The smoke stings your eyes, and a moment later you drift off again. Laying under the night sky, you look at the moon and see the shadow of an eagle. But this time, you don't care.
Finish
You have a new vision and learn the history of a particular person. A young boy plays with a burning candle. He is fascinated by the fire. He doesn't heed the warnings someone issues. You also start talking to him, but he can't hear you. The candle falls to the floor, and your vision ends.

Are you Ok? Is everything alright? You don't look well. The vision of the fire was too unsettling? Well, understanding the symbol of fire may be more difficult than we thought. We still have one last symbol left... I don't know where we have to go though. My tribe has always neglected this part of life. The shaman doesn't know how to find a connection with earth. But I think a good idea would be to go underground, deep into the earth. Let's find a mine, there might be some clues. Get ready for our next trip.

You walk into an abandoned mine! With each step you feel a growing anxiety. You hear strange noises coming from the depths below, but you continue. You feel strange, everything starts spinning. Another world (The past?) slowly emerges from the fog. You see miners digging tunnels. They dig, deeper and even deeper... wresting the resources from the earth. They take the gold, which will be melted. They take the coal, which will be burned. The ground trembles slightly, as if the earth itself protests. The miners stop working, but only for a moment, waiting in silence. Then they start digging again. You see it, but you can't react. The earth shakes again, but this time violently, and one of the tunnels caves in. You see people fleeing and weeping. Now you are sure it was a sign...
Finish
You wake up, your friend is sitting next to you. You tell him about the vision, and he just looks in despair at the collapsed tunnel.

Maybe it's just me, but... I think our expedition brought more questions than answers. The symbols are still a big mystery to me, but I think that is not a bad thing, no? Some things maybe should remain unexplained, to remind us that we are not all-knowing and are no gods. So it is with these symbols. Give them to me please, and I will take them to the shaman. He may discover their true meaning. But now go and rest, it was a long journey.

The Necklace

Quest Giver Requirements Requires Reward
Waupee.png

Start
I told the shaman about our adventure and your visions. When he saw the symbols, he carved them into a piece of wood and threw it into the fire... and... and in the ashes there lay a necklace. The shaman told me a story about a young Indian who met the spirits of the ancestors. He asked them to help his family and he wanted to give food to his brothers and sisters from the tribe. The spirits, after hearing his plea, long discussed among themselves. They were not sure if they could help him. The young Indian waited patiently. He did not move an inch and just listened. For three days he didn't eat, drink or sleep. The spirits recognized his commitment. They gave him a gift, a necklace with which the young man could help his starving tribe. Every time he wore it, he received the favor of the four elements. Thus the young Indian saved his village. It happened a long time ago, even before the white man set foot on our lands.
Finish
Now the honor to wear this necklace is bestowed upon you. Use it well.
