In return, Butch was to transfer the papers into Mr. Brown's name for the ranch, the farm and the railroad station, so that Brown could sell it as a package to the Southern Pacific Railroad company. Both Butch and Mr. Brown would have made a lot of money in this deal. Got it so far? But then, Butch got really nervous when he realized that Mr. Brown is a very impatient business partner who was also behind the attacks on our farm. It's very likely that Mr. Brown is also responsible for the massacre of Butch's cattle. It looks like this guy will do anything to get what he wants. It drove him nuts that he couldn't get me to sell. Butch apologized to me and offered to help fight Mr. Brown. We'll reinforce the doors and windows of this house and take turns standing guard. We won't take any more risks!</spoiler>
  • Epilogue: <spoiler text="Show Epilogue">Nathan: It's strangely quiet around here lately. The calm before the storm? I think I told you about Waupee's grandfather and his magical powers? • Quest Text: <spoiler text="Show Text">Nathan: I've been lying awake all night long trying to find out what the next steps should be. Such a big company as Southern Pacific won't just give in without a fight. There will be others that will try to get our land. And they might be more dangerous than that Mr. Brown. I would never forgive myself if something happened to you because I was so stubborn. I will transfer the farm's ownership to you. It is your choice what you want to do with it. If you want to sell it, I will understand. Don't worry about me.</spoiler>
  • Epilogue: <spoiler text="Show Epilogue">Nathan: Good that you are rational and that you are not trying to convince me otherwise. I was never rich, but I still never missed anything. All the things I love are priceless anyway. I decided to build a small hut up at the Wolf Creek, close to where your parents, and now Abigail, are buried. I'll be closer to her then. I've spent my whole life working really hard, I've decided to spend the rest of my days up in the mountains, fishing and exploring. Farewell, {PLAYER_NAME}.</spoiler>

  • Quest Text: <spoiler text="Show Text">Maya Roalstad: A few days ago, one of the higher-ups at the Southern Pacific Railroad was in the saloon. He seemed to like my dancing a lot and now he keeps sending me candy and flowers. I heard that Nathan wants to transfer his farm to you. That is your chance! Do you even know what kind of money they are talking about? The Southern Pacific could save tons of money if they can build their railroad tracks straight across that land, and they're willing to pay $12,000 for the farm. I could get that deal started and I would only take a very small part of it as a commission. That would leave you with a lot of money. Don't you think you deserve this after all that hard work for those many years?

Hint: You have three options to end the story. Your choice cannot be undone.</spoiler>

It looks like Southern Pacific is entangled in a corruption scandal that goes all the way to the highest level. It will take a while to collect the necessary evidence to start a lawsuit.
