You are greeted with a hail of arrows as you try to enter the Indian village. As soon as you hold up your calumet, the barrage stops.

You ask them why they are so aggressive towards the settlers, and they tell you that there is a General stealing land from them and that they have no other choice. After your successful peace negotiations, they agree to leave the settlers alone because they realise that the settlers are not the ones to blame.
