Gear Upgrading
The main change coming in the 2.21 update is the upgrading of gear. Any player with a few copies of the same item (at least 3 of the same level) will enjoy this new feature as it will now be possible to combine these items to create an enhanced version of the item.
New Interface Options
By clicking the ‘Upgrade Items’ button at the base of the inventory window, you will be able to bring up the gear upgrading window where you can then upgrade your gear.
How it Works
- Three identical items can be forged into one item that is one level greater.
- For example: 3 blue bandanas can be forged into one 1-star blue bandana. Three 1-star bandanas can be forged into one 2-star bandana
- Upgrading items costs dollars or nuggets, depending on the price of the item and the level
- Currently you can only upgrade up to level 5 which might be raised again soon.
- Currently only the following bonuses get higher when upgrading items: Skills and attributes, damage and travelling speed.
- Level-depending bonuses work the same as non-level dependant bonuses
- Upgraded items are sellable but not auctionable. Be careful: The sell prices don't change.
- Set bonuses stay the same. However, you can combine items of different levels for the set to work.
- For Example a level 0 Cullen Baker clothing set will work if you replace the bandana with a level 1 bandana.
- From level 0 to level 1 you always get at least +1 to skill and attribute points. After that you get exactly 10% of the base value with each upgrade. Mathematical rounding applies
- Example: A base item with +1 strength and +3 vigor gets upgraded to level 2. The stats now are: +2 strength, +4 vigor. On level 3 you still get +2 strength (1,2) and + 4 vigor (+3,6). This stays the same until level 5, when you will have +2 strength (1,5) and +5 vigor (4,5).
- Items that require a level under 20 can not be upgraded. The only exception to this rule is the donkey and grey rags.
