The salt has absorbed all the water so the plants are starved of moisture, causing them all to shrivel up and die. Meanwhile the rain has caused the salt to dissolve, but not before Flint had Dean rent him the farm. However he never did pay his rent, instead he forged his deed so everyone thought that he owned the land himself! Pass me the certificate so that we can finally give it back to Dean, the legitimate owner.
