Start There’s a fellow who would like to talk to you. The one with the funny hat.Farmer: Hey there! Say, are you looking for some money? One of our boys broke his leg. Now we need someone to take his shift for the night watch. Usually there’s not much going on. Some rabbits feasting on our fields or some such. Easy money with the lovely company of Grumper!	Finish Farmer: Swell! Meet me around twilight, then I’ll show you the grounds.

Start Farmer: Evening sir! Here’s your partner Grumper. If there was a Medal of Honor for dogs, he sure would win it! All you have to do is stick close to him. He’ll tell you when something’s wrong.	Finish Farmer: Told you there’s not much going on. Why don’t you come back the tomorrow night.

Start Dawn is breaking when you enter the farm grounds. The few workers around greet you. You go pick up your hairy partner and start walking. The night is quiet and peaceful. Suddenly Grumper barks and runs off into the dark. You follow stumbling over practically everything in your way... When you finally reach the dog, you see what the problem is. Coyotes. They’re after the chickens.	Finish With a few shots, one Coyote is dead and the others scared off. You pat the old dog on the head and the two of you finish the rest of the round without any troubles.

Start You start to get a liking to this kind of work. Dutifully Grumper accompanies you across the farm grounds. You look after the chickens but there’s nothing wrong this time. Later on, Grumper looks up in alarm but hesitates. You take the lead towards the horse stables. A steed has escaped and tramples all over the fields.	Finish It’s some hard work but eventually you calm the horse and lead her back to the stables. Grumper barks in respect. At least that’s what you think it means.

Start Another night out. The wind is heavy and to make matters worse, rain pours down. Grumper looks at you miserably. No fun this time. Slowly the two of you make your way through the mud towards the pumpkin patch.	Finish Just some crows screaming at you. Grumper easily scares them off and you hurry through the last bit of tonights’ watch.

Start After last nights’ disastrous weather you’re not sure if you should go. But as soon as you reach the farm grounds, Grumper welcomes you happily. The night turns out a warm and clear one. You follow your little friend the usual round. Shortly after midnight both of you catch a far too familiar smell. Fire!	Finish Thanks to the two of you, the fire could be detected shortly after its outbreak and dammed in before it could spread. The damage is minimal.

Start Farmer: Hey! Grumper says you’ve been a good help! Our boys’ back on his feet. You can take the round today since you’re already here but after that I won’t be needing you for a while. You can drop in anytime for a visit though! . Walking beside the old dog you wonder if he’ll miss you... quickly you brush that sentimentality aside and keep your eyes open. To your left Grumper stiffens and shoots off. You hurry after him knowing your way by now. From afar you see two strangers with the horses. They have guns. Good thing you have your lasso! But wait... where did you put it?	Finish With one good loop you catch the thief and pull him from the horse. Grumper takes on the second one and forces him to the ground. You alarm the farmer and the thieves get arrested.. Farmer Sweet buttering beard! You saved me quite some trouble. Here. That’s the least I can do. Be sure to drop by for old Grumper every once in a while.
