It smells like somebody wanted to keep you from snooping around...Maybe you can find some clues at Newport, horrible things are happening there. Water is drained from the surrounding. Rumors say that people sign up for slave camps just to get water.The town is located in the very Southwest of the map. You cannot miss it, Newport is the biggest town in the prairie.

You are walking through Newport. The town is as dry as bone, even in the horse troughs you only find a scarce droplet of old, stinky water. People ogle you from a safe distance. You decide to call it a day as you are tired from your journey here.You say goodbye to Sam. It is time for you to part. She hugs you and gives you a goodbye present - her lucky tooth.Sam:This has always brought me luck, my father gave it to me. Now it shall fortune you. I have to look for my family. Please find the culprits behind the problems in this town.You decide to call it a day and go check for a cozy bed in the hotel.

Something smells fishy here. You are positive that this whole sheriff duty thing is a pretext to keep you away from sniffing around. The mayor's gunslinger is always around keeping an eye on you.During your rest you were able to scheme a plan how to check the bank inconspicuously. The bank has to put every sum above 1000 Dollars into the safe. This is a good way to take a sneaky look into the water reserves. You have to pay the money into a bank that is not located in your own town.

The confession of the thief is stuck in your mind. Can the mayor have drained and sold the water reserves to force people to sell their land cheap? Is he behind all that?It might be risky, but you think you should sneak into the mayor's house unseen to look around...Go on exploration in the house. Desert thief: These are the pipes. The mayor is using them to drain the water from the surroundings. I have no idea where these pipes are leading to, but I guess someone bigger than the mayor is behind this. And they are making a fortune with the water they sell.There is an access key behind the fence. I would not get in there if I where you. There are trained coyotes in there. They drive everybody off the pipes who dare to enter. If it would just be possible to get rid of coyotes in an easy way... You should know what coyotes like from Main Story part 1. Do you remember? Then equip this item and then hunt some coyotes to gain the access.

You arrive at the pipes. They are stuck from the sand and dust. You cant manage to redirect them with your bare hands.Desert thief: You need to change the direction of the rotary pistons on the pipes to funnel the water back into Newport. We need some gear for that.

With the gear you are able to loosen the pipes.Desert thief: You managed to change the flow direction of the water pipes. Nobody will remain thirsty anymore! But once the mayor will find out he will wipe out the whole desert thief camp and stop the pipes again. Time to deal with him.
